Health and Diet

The Cattery is licensed by Stratford District Council under the Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963.The District Council inspects the Cattery on an annual basis for the licence to be retained.

Health

Orchard Boarding Cattery prides itself on its excellent health and safety record. This can only be achieved by making sure certain conditions are adhered to, which will safeguard not only the health and well being of your cat but also that of the other cats in the Cattery. Therefore, before your cat is accepted into the Cattery, they MUST satisfy the following conditions:

All cats will be given a quick visual examination before being shown to their chalet

Medical History

It is important to inform the Cattery of any health problems your cat may have had, or is likely to have, in case your cat is taken ill during its board. Should your cat be taken ill and needs to see a vet, we will endeavour to contact you or your nominated emergency contact before seeing a vet. If this is not possible we will take your cat to our nominated veterinary practice with whom we have a very close and supportive working relationship.

Medication

The Cattery is happy to administer medication including any injections your cat may require, if you tell us beforehand. It will help us if you can give us the name of the medication, the dose, and the frequency, as it is sometimes difficult to read the labels, on bottles, etc.

Diet

We like to feed your cat on a diet, which is the same, or is as close as possible, to the one they are used to at home. We keep a range and variety of the main branded tinned and foil sachet products, such as Whiskers and Felix as well as the dried complete foods, such Hills Science Plan, Go-Cat and Whiskers Complete.

Feeding is twice daily, am and pm, or more frequently with kittens and cats with special needs.
